How Can my Boobs be Mine if all Bras are Already Shaped Like Someone Elses?

My quest for a non padded bra. It went on for hrs and hrs. It crossed the Llyod Center Mall,spanned three floors and four stores. Turns out if your breasts are smaller than a C cup they are obviously too small and require padding. I also learned that for some reason people are scared of nipples. Yes folks,nipples. Instead it is preferred the female breast naturally tear drop shaped for the most part should be shaped like a beach ball and have no nipple.

First lets talk back story. For most of my grown life I have spent tons of money on bras filled with padding,air,water,silicon,and strange inserts to make my breasts look more appealing. I had always hated my breasts even before birthing three beautiful babies. After having my first son the real dread started. I had been un comfy with my nipples before by now I hated them. I had longed for a boob job more than ever. I ended up with a Victoria's Secret Platinum card and spend literally thousands of dollars on undies and bras that would make my boobs and body look pretty. (I could have gotten said boob job a cheap one anyways with all that money.)Some time in the past year or so I had finally let the boob job dream go. I had decided that spending that money on a furthered education and art supplies maybe better if I need to treat myself. I somehow figured out that my breasts are a part of me and I love me.So this weird non lined bra I had never worn suddenly became my favorite. Hence the search began.

My shopping started simply enough. I biked to the mall and immediately went to Victoria's Secret. I learned what her secret is,if you have smaller breasts she demands they look larger. To add insult to injury the bra I was wearing when I arrived was an OLD bra from there. No lining sheer barely there fabric and an underwire. Very real,very comfy. "I'm sorry we no longer carry unlined bras in the store. But I do have these neon lace bras." I'm game so I checked them out. I'll tell you what they were ugly AND they didn't have one in a size smaller than a D cup."You can shop online." NO. I need to try on a bra before I buy it. NEXT....

Next I went to Fredrick's of Hollywood. Here was where I found my first purchase. I tried on two bras. The ONLY two non lined bras my size in the store my size. Of course there were no matching underwear and that is a must for me. I like to be well put together especially when my man is going to be taking it all apart later. He quite honestly doesn't care,but I do! So I tried them on. One white lace the other brown and pink lace and satin. I didn't like the no matching underwear deal and wanted to make sure that I had spent my money well so I had the sales girl hold on to them and headed to Nordstroms.

Nordstroms,three floors of shoes,a piano,three floors of woman's wear and a dinky intimate appearal section. I didn't loose hope. They HAD to have specialty items at this place. This Palace of shopping. I found one bra with matching panties with out padding but still lined. At this place I got WONDERFUL customer service. I was measured and brought to my fitting room several bras to try on. Turns out if you are a 36 B they can try to put you in a 34 C D or DD. I tried on several D cup sized bras and was pinched by the C cup bras. They were all just a tad baggy in the cup and too tight around my ribs making un flattering lines. An upper muffin top if you will. After trying on several mostly colored white,black or tan one bra finally fit me. It was ugly and had no matching panties. NEEEEXT.

One more hope in this mall. Macy's. At this point my boyfriend and I are getting hungry AND tired. We get to Macy's and they have a HUGE lingerie department. AWESOME. They have many unlined bras for my size. Most of them beige,black,white. Most very ugly. No real style and all pretty high cut. They were sold out of all the cute colors. or didn't have matching undies. I ended up leaving with two 42.00 bras one beige one black. And luckily found matching undies for the bra at Fredrick's which was actually not boring.

After all the turmoil I ended up with ONE cute bra lace and satin brown and pink no underwire two mediocre but functional and comfortable bras and a few pairs of matching panties.

I guess my point is this, WHY? Why do I have to wear a padded bra to find something super sexy and cute? Why is it bad that if the weather is chilly or I get excited that my nipple should indicate such things? Why did my boyfriend read a book called the history of bras at Nordy's and become educated that for some reason breasts are made to look like chest butts?! REALLY?! We as a people,as a nation,as a race of beings need to get over these weird hang ups with breasts. They are beautiful no matter what size,color,or shape. We should all have unique breasts. Why not? Breasts are food makers for babies not weird sexual chest decorations. I don't see my man taking me to "Victor's Secret and getting him padded underwear to make his cock look bigger". We cast our judgment onto Muslims and try to act like we are better because we don't make our women cover every inch of themselves. Yet we suppress our young girls and woman's nipples and unique breast shapes with enough foam to insulate many houses for homeless or enough padding to cloth cold poor people all around the world.

I'm proud of my non stereo typical stripper boobs. I'm happy with my imperfections. Not because I have to be. Not because I can't change them. Because they are me. Time to be real women America. He's going to find out that's not what they look like when he takes that bra off anyways right?
